| AV Archive Installation Please close any programs that may be running. If AV Archive is being installed on a
network drive, make sure that Setup has write access to that drive. Setup also needs
write access to ArcView's extension folder (\EXT32) . Hardware and Software Requirements Windows Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95 or
Windows 98 Install AV Archive 2.0 or AV Archive2.0d (demo) The AV Archive program and user's guide is distributed on
either a CD-ROM or as a single file that is downloaded from GeoSnap's Web
site. Follow the instructions below that are appropriate for your situation. CD-ROM If you are installing from a CD-ROM, the installation
program is located in the "disk1" folder on the CD-ROM. Proceed to step 1 below.
If you are installing AV Archive from the file that you
downloaded from the Internet, you must first expand the file to create the installation
program. You may have already expandeded the file if you are viewing this
document. If not, select one of the following options: Expand the Internet Download File - Option 1 (Windows Explorer) Use the Windows Explorer and browse to the folder that contains the file that you downloaded. The file name is "archive20_2.exe" for the "live" version or "archive20d_2.exe" for the demonstration version. Double-click on the file and wait for the "AV Archive 2.0 Release 2" screen to appear. The window's caption is "AV Archive 2.0d Release 2 (demo) " for the demonstration version. Expand the Internet Download File - Option 2 (Window's Run Menu) Click the Windows "Start" button and select the
"Run" menu option. Enter the full path and name of the file that you
downloaded from the GeoSnap Web site. The file is named
"archive20_2.exe" for the live version or "archive20d_2.exe" for the
demonstration version. Click "OK" and wait for the "AV Archive 2.0
Release 2" screen to appear. The window's caption is "AV Archive 2.0d
Release 2 (demo) " for the demonstration version. Finish Expanding the Internet Download File If necessary, change the "destination" for the AV
Archive Setup program and installation guide. Leave all other screen prompts
unchanged. Click "Finish" to expand the file and create the Setup
installation program and the AV Archive Installation Guide. Use the Windows Explorer and browse to the folder
that contains the file that you downloaded. The file is named
"archive20_2_ig.exe" for the live version or "archive20d_2_ig.exe" for
the demonstration version. Double-click on the file and wait for the
"AV Archive 2.0 Release 2" screen to appear. The window's caption is
"AV Archive 2.0d Release 2 (demo) " for the demonstration version. The AV Archive Installation Guide is found in the
"help" folder that is located under the "destination" folder, as
illustrated in Figure 1.0.
The installation guide is viewed by pointing your Web browser at the file named
"InstallHelp.htm". Enter the file name with its full path in the box where
you normally enter a Web address. The AV Archive Installation Guide is found in the
"help" folder that is on the CD-ROM. The installation guide is viewed by
pointing your Web browser at the file named "InstallHelp.htm". Enter the
file name with its full path in the box where you normally enter a Web address. For example : I:\Disk1\Setup.exe
Wait for Setup to initialize and follow the instructions that appear on the welcome screen.
