1 - AV SnapShot Features [ Back to Index ]
Overview

The AV SnapShot extension for ArcView GIS contains a set of thirteen (13) report formats for printing the essential setup information in your ArcView project.  Using AV SnapShot,  you can produce a summary report that consolidates a project's setup information into one concise and attractive report.  The AV SnapShot report also reveals the parts of an ArcView project  that are only accessible through custom Avenue scripts.

AV SnapShot eliminates the need to repeat  the hundreds of mouse clicks that it would normally take to review a project, using the standard ArcView user interface.

Each descriptive AV SnapShot report can be quickly reviewed to identify possible errors or omissions in your ArcView project.   In addition,  the AV SnapShot report is designed to be a significant part of your completed project's permanent documentation.

The current version of AV SnapShot works with standard ArcView and its view, table, layout, chart, and SEd document types.

User Defined Report Selections

AV SnapShot allows you to select specific parts of your project for reporting.  One or more GUIs, views, tables, layouts, charts, and  SEds (scripts) can be selected and included in your report.  A menu option that displays your current selections is available.  You can even save your own selections as the AV SnapShot system default.

A Few Examples of the Information in AV SnapShot's Reports

  • Location of where each script is called in your customized GUIs.
  • Embedded and encrypted scripts in project.
  • Location of a theme's source files or folder.
  • Name(s) of a table's indexed fields(s).
  • Theme attribute field width and data type.
  • Event theme's setup parameters.
  • Plus much more ...

Current Limitations

The current version of AV SnapShot(2.0)  does not report information contained in dialogs or in the ArcView dialog GUI.     Click here to be notified when available.
